Join us for the Sweetheart 5k presented by Dental Care Center and the 1-Mile Fun Run sponsored by Wade Designs Jewelry! Through a partnership with the Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation Department, the Tar River Running Company is excited to bring you the 2nd annual event on Saturday, February 13, 2009. The first 150 runners to register will receive a FREE sports sack pack! Also, be sure to check out our new shirt design for 2010.

This 5k course runs through the Candlewood and Greystone communities of Rocky Mount. Both Candlewood and Greystone neighborhoods are favorites to the local runners. The quiet, tree-lined streets are some of the most peaceful places to run. Gentle rolling hills offer a change of pace from what is normally found in Rocky Mount.

The Sweetheart 5k will once again add a unique element of excitement to road racing by offering a couples competition. Any couple that pre-registers for the race will be eligible for additional prizes in our “Sweetheart Division” as we try to find the fastest couples in eastern North Carolina.
